Clean Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies


I used the following ingredients – 1 batch makes about 6 cookies, so I tend to make a double batch. Obviously to share…yes to share..

You can substitute the green and blacks for cacao nibs if you wanted it to be truly vegan BUT after extensive Googling, the only reason the 85% green & Blacks can’t say it is vegan / dairy free is that it uses the same production line as its other bars which do contain dairy.  So depending on allergies/beliefs etc substitute away.


1 batch

1 cup of ground almonds
1/8 teaspoon of salt
1/8 teasspoon of bicarbonate of soda
3 tablespoons of melted coconut oil
2 tablespoons of honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extraxt
1 tablespoon of almond milk
50g (1/2 big bar) of Green & Blacks 85% chocolate broken/smashed/ground up into chips

Mix the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet in another and then combine.

Spoon cookie size dollops onto a lined baking tray and squash down (they don’t spread during cooking, so you need to squish them)

Cook in Gas mark 4 / 350F / 170C for about 10 minutes, they will start to go brown.

When you take them out they will still be very soft, I slide the whole greaseproof lining onto a cooling rack and let them cool a good bit before removing from liner.

Now just try and eat one.
